Turkeys and chickens

Last year's attempt at Dicey at Best 8+

Turkey day came and went. There's enough of my bird for a couple more samiches. Brad took us out to Lower Small Wall on Monday. We did a couple pitches of Good Tang and walked over to Dicey At Best. I started up it and turned chicken above my second piece of gear. I put it up but it wasn't pretty. Brad gave it a good effort, but took a fall where I wimped out. We wandered down the cliff to a line I spotted a long time ago. Brad onsighted it and I followed. I liked it. Needs some cleaning but has lots of great hand jams and stiff moves. We took our time up on the ledge. The veiw was splendid. I have never seen another year when the oaks had better color. Admiring the fall color is way better from a vantage point above them. I went exploring the ledge while Brad set up our belay, and found another pitch to the top. I'll be back there to send and top it out. Maybe this spring when everything is green again.

post frost flowers

A big thank you to a couple photographer friends for inspiring me to learn to take close up flower pictures. I think the results speak for themselves.

Mariba

Tearing it up on Reach The Beach. The route was so good I climbed it twice. This part was burly. Getting established on the climb is the crux of it for sure. What an awesome weekend of climbing and climbing friends, relaxing around the fire at Miguel's afterwards and hiking around in the forest. Willie's Wall and Mariba Fork are splendid this time of year.
